Decor

I find that the appearance of my personal surroundings is just as important to me as is what I wear. I like for my room to reflect my style and tastes, so that I am constantly surrounded by things that I love. Thus I have always taken an interest in unique decor and love seeing pictures of prettily decorated rooms.

The Figures of Art

I'm trying to spend a bit less time looking at clothing to buy online, as doing so makes me constantly want new things. I hate being so materialistic plus also I would prefer to be saving my money to go out and do more things instead of just using it to buy stuff. So I spent quite a bit of time on tumblr yesterday looking at photos of all sorts of pretty things, which I felt was more fulfilling than my usual. So I will probably be sharing much more various art with those of you who read my blog. Plus I like having lots of the pretty pictures that I find all in one place.

In my browsing yesterday I came across this deviantart page http://hamondo.deviantart.com/gallery/ which I recommend taking a look at. I think that all of her artwork is very lovely and below are a few of my favorites.

I'm not sure who to credit for this because the site was in Japanese I'm assuming and once I translated it, that didn't help much either. But, I really love this and just wanted to share...

Victorian Boots

I've been on an epic hunt for some Victorian-esque boots for the past couple months. I'm really picky about boots though, so I'm having a lot of trouble finding exactly the right pair (ie: not only the design must be perfect, but the price must also be reasonable). The first pair pictured I absolutely love, though they are extremely pricey and probably not the right colors for my wardrobe. They second pair are perfect price wise, but with the lace insets I think my feet would get wet in the rain. The third would be completely perfect as far as design and price however, I really wish that they were black. And so the search continues...

Tarina Tarantino

Tarina Tarantino has been my absolute favorite jewelry designer for quite some time. Her designs are all very pretty and unique, not to mention that she has lines which feature some of my favorite characters (Alice in Wonderland and Pink Head). Below are some of her current designs of which I am particularly fond of.

I'm a pretty huge fan of Beat Generation literature and of Jack Kerouac especially, so I love this short film based on an incident that once occurred between Carolyn and Neal Cassady.
